A.S. Science, Chemistry Major
Associate of Science: Science (880), Chemistry Major
The Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Science with a Chemistry Major is a degree that
allows students to design a curriculum that best prepares them for transfer as a Chemistry Major to a four-year institution. The program consists of several general education electives that may be selected in consultation with an advisor or counselor to ensure they will be accepted at the four-year institution they plan to attend.
Courses required for the AS Science degree with a major in Chemistry are available on all four campuses, with the exception of the Organic Chemistry Lectures and Labs (CHM 241, CHM 242, CHM 245, and CHM 246) which are only available on the Chesapeake and Virginia Beach campuses.
Accreditation: TCC’s regional accreditation is affirmed through 2027 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The college has 13 nationally accredited academic programs.
